Focus ...Get Your Head In The Game

Monday, June 27, 2005

That's how the game is played!!!!

We set our goals and pretty much accomplished all of them. Besides winning, the goal I'm most proud of us achieving is the staying focused and playing as a team goal!!! If we can channel the way we played tonight, we will be a tough team to beat the rest of the season. Enjoy the WIN and get yourself mentally prepared for the next game (Saint Albert). Great job, you all make me so proud!!

Heck Yes!!

Great job ladies!!! We wanted 4 out 4 and we got 3 out 4. Still be proud, you played hard. I'm proud of each and every one of you! You all contributed to each victory in some way.
#1 you had a great tourney and hit the ball like a mad women. Don't stress on yourself so much...just have fun out there. You do great job setting an example and leading this team.
#2 you do great things for this team and you continued this weekend by getting on base and scoring runs. Be a crazy women out there and don't be scared to make mistakes... they are going to happen.
#3 what can I say about you? I gave you a challenge and you are you concurring it. Not many people could totally change what side of the plate they hit from and be successful with it in a matter of a season. Keep working hard! You're no longer "just a runner"
#4 I'm glad you decided to come out. You have definitely added speed to this team!! What I'm most impressed with is your hard work and willingness to get better!
#5 I know you didn't play like you wanted this weekend...getting sick stinks! You are an important part of this team I rely on you to a lot. Keep it up!
#6 I'm impressed!!! I've been pleasantly surprised by your abilities in the outfield. You continue to come up with big plays and always seem to make the routine ones. I look forward to how you progress throughout the season.
#7 you are now deemed the big bad hitting machine. You pulled through Sat with some big hits and more importantly, getting on base. I know I get on your case sometimes but I just want the best for you! I see good things in you, and want you to reach your full potential.
#8 I love your passion for the game of softball! I know you want more playing time and hate to sit so much, but your time is coming. Just stick with it. You are improving each and everyday and I see nothing but greatness for you in the near future!
#9 you did an AWESOME job this entire weekend. You continue to hit the ball, and that's not always an easy task. You’re going to have your streaks and your slumps, its just a matter of how you deal with. I love how you are willing to work hard to get better…I enjoy that. Don't be so hard on yourself...just play softball...its fun!
#10 once again you provided us with solid defense, you’re becoming quite the player. To just think, it wasn't long ago and you were bailing away from ground balls and now your taking them on like a champ. You’re doing a fabulous job at 3rd and pitching.
#11 you were a great team player all weekend. Your support and ability to come in the game to run or hit was a great asset. Your effort has been top notch all year.
#12 you were the backbone of this team all weekend. Your defense is getting better and better each game. I have complete faith when you’re up to bat and know your going to get a hit or get on in some way. You have passion, desire and most importantly, you’re a competitor. Those things can't be taught, you should use them in others ways beside softball. You too, were given a challenge and you too, are concurring it.
#14 you did good things all weekend, both offensively and defensively. What I’m most impressed with is your ability to overcome difficulties and not give up. You continue to get better and better with each at bat, and with each inning of defense. I know softball is not your favorite sport, but you put passion and effort into it. And it’s resulted in you becoming a player.

#16 you pitched well all weekend! You continue to keep your walks to minimum and make the batter earn their way on. You give us a chance to win every time we step on the field. I've asked you to do a lot for this team and you've taken on every request. I'm thankful for that and appreciate your hard work!!!

First Conf. WIN

What a WIN!! There's nothing better then free softball (extra innings). A sign of a good team is when you can pull off a victory when your not playing your best game. In our case we weren't hitting but we still found a way to win the game. That was a total team effort and a great victory for all. Everyone should be proud! I AM!

Getting it DONE!

We accomplished most of our goals, and best of all, won the game. The bats were asleep for a little while but they woke up when needed. Tomorrow against West, lets not wait around, lets jump on them right away and have some fun. Thumbs up to the "D" tonight, everyone did a great job.

GOOD WIN!

It wasn't the most exciting game, but you got it done!! We now need to FOCUS on A.L.!!! How bad do you want it?
Are you hungry?
Are you thirsty?
Is it a fire that burns you up inside?
How bad do you want it? How bad do you need it?
Are you eating, sleeping, dreaming
With that one thing on your mind?
How bad do you want it?How bad do you need it?
Cause if you want it all
You've got to lay it all out on the line

You gotta BELIEVE

It was a hard fought game tonight, and you all definitely showed your character! I'm proud of how you fought back and never gave up. The game didn't end up the way we wanted but a lot of good came from it. We need to work even harder to get where we want! It's going to take effort from everyone... from the first person in the line-up to the last one who comes in off the bench. Be proud but not satisfied. You haven't yet tapped the barrel of potential this team has. One game at a time...next up, Saint Albert.

NCAA College softball World Series

Check out the Softball College World Series on ESPN!!! A player can learn a lot from watching!!!!

Weekend blues!

WOW! This weekend was like going from 0 to 60 in 6.0 and then going from 60 to 0 in .2. We definitely started the tourney off the way we wanted, beating Mo. Valley 2-1. It was an all around great game. We manufactured runs, got the hits when we needed, and most importantly played defense when it counted. I was very excited and was impressed with the team that showed up for that game.

GAME 2: We played West Harrison and got beat 6-2, yes I said 6-2. Defense wasn't the greatest this game, 5 of their runs were unearned. What killed us the most was only getting 2 hits the whole game (I wish more people would have came to open gyms over the winter). They gave us several opportunities by walking seven batters, but we couldn't come up with the big hit when we needed it. We lost focus and couldn't get it back!! This is something we need to work on as the season goes on.

GAME 3: Saints earn FIRST victory!
In this game we played a very young and scrappy Saint Albert team. They didn't do anything spectacular, just made the plays and came up with hits when needed. One thing learned from this game is that we need to work on bunt coverage. They found our weakness and took it to us! We get another chance at them this upcoming week; I expect a different ball game!!!!!!!!!

Everyone should be very disappointed in the last two games of this weekend...Unacceptable if we want to step up to the next level of play. We can't forget the first game and the positive things that happened from that game. We certainty learned a lot about ourselves this weekend and now it's up to us and take what we learned and improve on it. I know we can, it's in all of you! How hard are you willing to work?
